Obituary for Sara June Emigh

Sara June Emigh, 96, of Clymer, passed away on September 24, 2015 at the Communities of Indian Haven. She was born on August 31, 1919, to Frank Emigh and Sarah Gray Emigh on the family farm in Cherryhill Township.

She graduated from Pine Township High School and continued her education at God’s Bible School in Ohio, the University of Cincinnati and Clarion University. She taught English and was head librarian for 32 years in the Penns Mnaor Area School District.

She was a charter member of the Kenwood Penns Manor Church of the Nazarene and had a real heart for missions. As church pianist and organist for over 60 years, she also played for many weddings and recitals and wrote many narratives for the church music programs. She also taught piano in her home for over 60 years.

She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews and their families. With the daily care from her caregivers, Elma Buterbaugh and Mary Lou Emigh, she was able to continue living in her home independently.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Edgar, Willis, Frank, Oliver, Norman, Saul and Paul; and sisters: Ethel Ober, Iva Bennett, Nora Faith, and Gertrude Patterson.

Viewing will be at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home in Clymer, on Saturday, September 26, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, and on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00. The funeral service will be held at 3:00, followed by the Committal service.
