Obituary for Amanda L. Smith (McKendrick)
Amanda L. (McKendrick) Smith, 44, of Derry, died Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.
Born December 6, 1978 in Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Mark Joseph McKendrick, Sr. and Linda (Dilts) McKendrick. She was the wife of Michael P. Smith.
Mandy was a graduate of the Apollo Ridge High School. She was a stay at home mom who enjoyed being with her family, watching tv and staying close to home. She liked eating Chinese food and having her hair and nails done by her daughter, Hollie.
In addition to her husband, Michael, she is remembered by her children: Anthony Mcadams and Hollie Smith, both of Derry. Other surviving family members include her siblings: Kelly Heckman, Brush Valley; Larry McKendrick, Strongstown; Mark Joseph McKendrick, Jr., Brush Valley; Joseph A. McKendrick, Corsica; Edward McKendrick and Matthew McKendrick, both of Indiana; and Shawn McKendrick, Clune. Mandy is also survived by her nieces and nephews whom she treated as her own: April, Thomas, Josh, Charleen, Destiny and Jr McKendrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Verner F. McKendrick, Sr.
Visitation is Wednesday, September 20th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, the time of her funeral service at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, 965 Philadelphia St., Indiana.
