Obituary for Andrew Thomas "Andy" Byler
Andrew Thomas Byler, age 77 yrs., 3 months, 6 days died at Allegheny General Hospital early Sunday, morning, Nov. 5, 2023. He was born on July 29, 1946 in Belleville, PA to John Z. and Amelia (Yoder) Byler.
He married Anna Beachy, daughter of Arthur Martin and Mary (Mast) Beachy on March 13, 1969. They were married 54 years prior to his death. He is also survived by their children: Mary and Alvin Landis, Clymer, PA; Kathryn and Silas Troyer, Rutherford, TN; Lois and Daniel Mast, Clarkson, KY; Matthew and Elizabeth Byler, New Columbia, PA; Deborah and Marvin Kauffman, Brooksville, MS; Joshua and Lori Byler, Punta Gorda, FL and Caleb and Lisa Byler, Milton, PA.
He loved and enjoyed 27 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters: Jacob, Ezra and John Byler, Mattie Martin, Sarah Beachy and Phebe Beachy.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Carrie Mast and Jeffery Landis and the following siblings: John Byler, Jonas Byler and Fannie Hostetler.
His life showed he loved the church, the Bible and his family.
He was a dairy farmer in Belleville, PA until March 2017 when they moved to Commodore, PA. It was a difficult adjustment for him but he accepted it and learned to enjoy living here. Andy enjoyed watching the stars and nature.
He kept active caring for their chickens and bees. Everyday he would walk out to the mailbox and then run back to the house. Andy also enjoyed mowing the lawn at church.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 7th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Hillsdale Mennonite Church, 1369 Fleming Summit Road, Commodore, PA 15729. His funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 10 AM at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
