Obituary for Barbara Jean Meese (Blazavich)

Barbara Jean (Blazavich) Meese, 74, of Marion Center, died Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of David M. Meese, whom she married May 11, 1996.

Born October 1, 1948 in Fulton Run, she was a daughter of John M. and Mary (Fair) Blazavich.

She was a member of the Penns Manor High School Class of 1966. Barbara worked as a Project Manager at Polyvision (Greensteel) for 36 years, retiring in 2008, when the plant closed. She was an Elder for many years at the Presbyterian Church of Marion and active in many other ways at the church.

She enjoyed camping, traveling, watching dirt track races, following all the Pittsburgh professional teams and attending their games. She especially loved watching her grandchildren at their sporting events. Her family meant everything to her.

Barbara is survived by her husband, David M. Meese, her mother Mary Blazavich and her children: Scott A. Adamson (Colleen), of Alexandria, VA; Lisa McCoy (Adam), of Marion Center; and Nicole Watkins, of Indiana. Her siblings Carolyn Deem (Randy), of Clymer and John Blazavich, Jr, of Indiana also survive her. She will be remembered by her five grandchildren: Josh McCoy, Nathan McCoy, Aaliyah Watkins, Noah McCoy and Aubree Watkins. Her first great-granddaughter is expected in August 2023. In addition, she leaves behind her brothers-in law Rodney Meese and Larry Meese and her sister-in-law, Linda Learn as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, John M. Blazavich and by her mother-in-law Alice Meese Kelly.

Friends will be received at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, of Clymer, 655 Franklin Street, on Friday, March 31st  from 2-4 and 6-8PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Saturday morning at 11AM with Pastor Doug Snyder, officiating.
