Obituary for Clarence Leroy Hardy

Clarence Leroy “Lee” Hardy, 76, of Diamondville, died Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born February 19, 1942 in McConnellstown, Huntingdon County, he was a son of the late Clarence Melvin Hardy and Mildred Agnes (Gill) Hardy.

Clarence was an outdoorsman who enjoyed deer and squirrel hunting and just being outside.

Many remember Clarence from the days when he owned and operated Hardy’s Body Shop in Diamondville, a business he ran for nearly 30 years.

He’s remembered by his wife, Judy (States) Hardy; daughter, Rachel Harvilla (John); step-son, Scott Keith (Colleen), Diamondville. He is also survived by grandchildren: Matthew Detwiler; Samantha (Detwiler) Morales; Brandon Detwiler; Shawn Keith; Jessica (Keith) Cole; and by his great grandson, Lorenzo Morales. He’s also survived by his brother, Gerald Hardy and his significant other, Cindy, East Waterford and by his sister, Kathy (Hardy) DeWalt, Mansfield. Other surviving family members include a niece and a nephew.

In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald M. Hardy an infant sibling, and by a niece, Melissa DeWalt.

Friends will be received Monday afternoon, February 4th from 2:00 until 4:00 PM, the time of the funeral service at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. Rev. August B. Twigg will officiate. Burial will be at the Diamondville Cemetery.
