Obituary for David Richard Sellers

David Richard Sellers, 66 of Clymer (Rayne Twp.), unexpectedly died at his home, Friday morning December 22, 2023. Born in Pittsburgh, June 20, 1957, he was a son of the late, Robert H. Sellers and Betty Jean (Wells) Sellers. He was the husband of Donna M. (Edwards) Sellers, whom he married, October 6, 1978.

A graduate of West Mifflin High School, he retired from PennDot where he worked as a truck driver for more than 20 years at the Marion Center stock pile. Prior to that job, he drove a cement truck for Stutzman Concrete.
David was raised in a Nazarene church and held true to his Christian beliefs throughout his life.

He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter who enjoyed hunting for many years. He recently began archery hunting and earlier this season he bagged his first deer with a crossbow. David was fortunate to be witness to both of his grandchildren bagging their first bucks. Elizabeth got hers just this year, and Caleb several years ago.

In keeping with his love of the outdoors, David loved camping with his family. He was known for his roaring campfires where he would cook hot dogs and mountain pies. He was a great handyman who could fix and repair just about anything. He was just as talented as a carpenter, having built his family’s home.

In addition to his wife, Donna, David is remembered by his children: Kevin A. Sellers (Amanda), Acme PA and Janelle L. Coyle (Jason), Indiana PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Caleb and Elizabeth Sellers and by his siblings: Paul R. Sellers (Judy), Howard, OH and Carol J. White (Raymond) Erie, PA.

Friends will be received Thursday, December 28th from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the time of the service at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory of Indiana. Rev. Gary Smith will officiate. Interment will be private at the Marion Center Memorial Cemetery, Marion Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory to assist with funeral expenses.
