Obituary for Deborah Jean "Deb" Pletcher (Weber)

Deborah “Deb” Jean Pletcher, 69, of Indiana, died at her home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Born December 9, 1951, in Spangler, she was a daughter of Mary Theresa (Weakland) Weber of Loretto and the late Robert J. Weber. She was the wife of David R. Pletcher, Jr. whom she married September 9, 1972.

Deb was a 1969 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School and a 1972 graduate from the Altoona’s Hospital School of Nursing. She began her career as a Registered Nurse at Altoona Hospital, then in Texas where she worked at the Baylor Medical Center in Dallas; the Visiting Nurse Association in Plano and at the Health South Rehabilitation Hospital in Plano, retiring in 2011.

After living in the Dallas area for 45 years, she and her husband, David, moved back to Pennsylvania in 2018. Deb enjoyed gardening, attending sporting events, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is remembered by her daughters: Jennifer Johns (Nathan), Elderton and Kimberly Barlow (Andrew), Wheaton, IL. Her grandchildren are: Travis and Emily Johns and Hayley and Alaina Barlow. Deb is also survived by her sister, Barbara O’Brien (Edward), Loretto and the following brothers and sisters in-law: Collene Weber, Ebensburg; Susan and Donald Cherry, Lewistown and James Dale and Patti Pletcher, Altoona.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert J. Weber, who died, January 26, 1999, and by her brother, Randell J. Weber, Sr., who died July 25, 2014.

The Pletcher Family wants to express their heartfelt thanks for the wonderful help and care given by the Aseracare Hospice of Johnstown and to all her caregivers.

Friends will be received from noon-1PM Friday September 24th at the Elderton Presbyterian Church, 113 N. Main Street, Elderton, where her funeral service will begin at 1 o’clock with Pastor Joe Barlow. Service arrangements are with the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home and Crematory of Indiana where online condolences may be offered at: rbfh.net.
