Obituary for Dennis E. Michaels
Dennis E. Michaels, 91, of Indiana, died Monday, January 1, 2024 at Beacon Ridge Nursing
Home, Indiana. Born July 11, 1932 in Emeigh, he was a son of the late Paul L. Michaels and
Mildred (Holt) Michaels.
He was a graduate of the former Pine Township High School and was a U.S. Army veteran
having served during the Korean War.
Dennis worked more than 30 years at McCreary Tire and Rubber Company in Indiana.
Afterwards he was a custodian at Penns Manor Area School District, and also at Aging Services
in Indiana. He retired at the age of 77.
He was a member of the Heilwood Presbyterian Church, having served as an Elder, a life
member of the Pine Township Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the former
Heilwood American Legion.
Dennis enjoyed woodworking, vegetable gardening, traveling, especially bus trips, and going to the
Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh.
He is remembered by his daughter, Denise Michaels, Indiana; brother, Paul Michaels (Judy),
Barberton, OH; Sister-In-Laws: Ruie Gressley; Betty Gressley and Debbie Gurcsik. He is also
survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by: his parents and step-mother, Beryl Michaels; wife, Naomi Jane
(Gressley) Michaels who died in 1986; and by siblings: Kenneth and Blair Michaels, Helen
Lawler, Mildred Lyttle and Norma Jean Kepple. He was also preceded in death by his special
friend, Linda Todd.
