Donald C. Moose, 93, of McCandless, formerly of Indiana, died on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Anthology of McCandless. Born January 26, 1930 in Brush Valley, he was the son of the late Sandy and Elma (Strong) Moose. He was the husband of Shirley (Filer) Moose who died October 16, 2008.

He was a 1948 graduate of the former Brush Valley High School and served during peacetime in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Donald moved from Indiana to Florida in the early 1970’s, before returning back to Indiana in 2002. He lived in Indiana until 2018 when he relocated to Pittsburgh to be closer to his daughter Cindy, and her family.

He attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Indiana, the Independent Traditional Holiness Church and the Church of the Nazarene in Homer City.

Donald is remembered by his daughter: Cindy Zell and son in law Jonathan, of Pittsburgh. And by his grandchildren: Jared and Hannah Zell.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Glenn and Ruth Moose.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 5th from 11 AM until Noon with his funeral service to follow at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, 965 Philadelphia Street, Indiana. Interment will be made at Brush Valley Union Cemetery.
