Obituary for Doris Marie Freeman

Doris Marie (Fryer) Freeman, 82, of Clymer, died suddenly, Tuesday, October 10th 2023 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Born in Clymer, December 16, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Dane Fryer and Dora (Huey) Fryer. She was the widow of Benjamin Franklin Freeman, Sr.

Doris was a homemaker who looked after her family as a wife, mother and grandmother. She loved watching sports on TV, which included her own comments and criticisms as an “armchair quarterback”. She was also a newshound who kept up to date with the latest news events and breaking stories. She always liked to spend time with her sister Linda, which often included going out for a bite to eat.

She is remembered by her six children: Sherri Fryer, Clymer; Benjamin Franklin Freeman, Jr., Clymer; Edwin Wayne Freeman (Awanda), Indiana; Eric Scott Freeman, Dixonville; William Sydney Freeman (Brenda), Clymer and Traci Powell (Toya), Beverly, OH. Other surviving family members include her seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and sisters: Linda Jones (Cecil), Rochester Mills and Patty Gray (Blair), Indiana. Doris is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Freeman who died in 2019.

Service arrangements are private and will be planned for a later date. Burial will be at East Mahoning Cemetery, Purchase Line. Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, 655 Franklin St., Clymer, PA is assisting the Freeman Family.
