Obituary for Frank Alex Kotrick

Frank Alex Kotrick, 79, Heilwood, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Born September 19, 1933 in Elmora, Cambria County, he was a son of the late Alex Kotrick and Mary (Konitsky) Kotrick. He was the husband of Shirley G. (Holmes) Kotrick whom he married July 23, 1977. They had just celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary.

Frank served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later held memberships with the VFW and American Legion.

For nearly thirty years he worked as a coal miner for the Barnes And Tucker Coal Company in Barnesboro.

Frank enjoyed the outdoors and liked to go hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by the following children: Karen Previte and Sandra Kotrick, both of Northern Cambria; Cathy Whited, Ebensburg; Mary Baker, Northern Cambria and Jennifer McKee, Lewistown. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His surviving brothers are: George; Andy; Wasco; Alex, Jr.; and John Kotrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant nephew.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31st from 11 AM until 1 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. His funeral service will be held at one o’clock Wednesday following the visitation hours at the funeral home. Rev. George Saltrik will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Cemetery, Bakerton.
