Obituary for Jean Campbell
Jean O’Hara (Airgood) Campbell, 77, of Kittanning, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at her home. Born July 20, 1946, in Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Robert Airgood and Elizabeth Stirling (O’Hara) Airgood.
She was a 1964 graduate of Elderton High School and went on to business college in Pittsburgh where she later entered the workforce and was employed until her marriage. She then worked in North Carolina and Florida while her husband was in the Marine Corps.
Jean enjoyed fishing, cross-stitching, and crafts.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Beth Steffey, of Kittanning; and her nieces: Susan Waine, of Clermont, FL; and Elizabeth Jeck (Robert), of Kissimmee, FL. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law, Thomas Campbell, of Ocala, FL; and sister-in-law, Helen Taylor, of Lenox, MA.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Mose Campbell; and her sisters: Janet Waine and Joan Carney, and brothers-in-law, Donald Clair Steffey, Norman Taylor, Albert Waine and Patrick Carney.
In accordance with Jean’s wishes, all service arrangements will be private. The Campbell family is being assisted by Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory, of Indiana.
Jean will be laid to rest next to her husband at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
Memorial donations may be made to the following: The Cat Community, 403 Braddock St., Mount Pleasant, PA 15666, or to Concordia-IRMC Family Hospice, 850 Hospital Road, Indiana, PA 15701, or to a local veterans charity of the donor’s choice.
