Obituary for Joseph "Eugene" Myers

Joseph “Eugene” Myers, 88, of Clymer, PA., died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

He was the son of Albert and Martha (Coy) Myers, born on May 3, 1921 in Clymer, PA.

Eugene was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer site. He was a lifetime member of the Clymer American Legion Post 222. Eugene served on various borough positions and Clymer Council. He served in the United States Air force in W.W. II.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Louise (Ashcroft) Myers of Clymer PA.; three sons, Tom and wife Patty of Youngstown, OH; Joe and wife Colleen of Clymer, PA.; George and wife Therese of Easton, PA; and one daughter, Denise Shank and husband Le Roy Jr. of Commodore, PA.; one sister, Virginia Clawson of Clymer, PA; 11 Grandchildren and two Great-grandchildren.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Carl, John, Harold and Le Roy and one sister, Mary Jane Wolff.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 28, 2009 from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the Bence Funeral Home, Clymer. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer with the Rev. Paul Lisik, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Sample Run cemetery, Clymer.
