Rita Teresa Kowchuck, 94, of Ernest was called home to the Lord,
Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home.
Born, February 5, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Samual and Mary
(Zeli) Miconi.

She was a lifelong resident of Ernest and was a member of the Church of
the Resurrection in Ernest.

Rita was the widow of John Joseph Kowchuck. She was a faithful and
loving wife who ensured her husband was well taken care of and loved
throughout their 40 years of marriage. She dedicated her life to her
family and helped with raising their son, John.

Rita was a strong woman of faith and trusted in the Lord.

She is survived by: son. John Robert Kowchuch (Agnes), Creekside. She
is also remembered by her grandchildren: Kellen (Christine) and Casey
(Kasey) and great grandchildren: Mason and Caroline.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rita was preceded in death by
her eleven siblings. Matthew Miconi; Samuel, Frank, John, Robert,
William, Eleanor, Dora, Mary Ellen and Gloria.

Rita’s family wishes to thank: Tom and Tina and the nursing staff and
aids at Crystal Waters for the outstanding care they provided for Rita.
They made her feel special and attended to her needs as if she were part
of their own family.

Private funeral arrangements are with the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home
& Crematory, 965 Philadelphia St., Indiana with Rev. James Morley, her
pastor. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
