Obituary for Vernon W. Felton

Vernon Walter Felton, 76, of Clymer, died Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born, May 29, 1942 in Neptune, New Jersey, he was the son of the late David Felton and Frances (Wilson) Felton Glodis. For the past 57 years he’s been married to Sandra (Baxter) Felton.

Vernon served in the U.S. Navy, and later went on to work as a Chief Lineman for REA Electric for 36 years, retiring in 2004.

He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed riding his motorcycle, shooting guns, pontoon boating, and riding four wheelers. He also liked spending time at his camp in Glendale. Most of all, Vernon loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandson.

Vernon was a member of the American Harley Association; IBEW; and a former member of the Clymer Borough Council.

In addition to his wife, he’ll be missed by his two sons: Tracy Felton and his wife Heather of Indiana; and Gary Felton and his wife Kimberly of Commodore. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Mark Mano and his wife Jenny of Rochester, NH; Crystal Timko and her husband Mark, Jr. of Darlington; Drew Felton and his wife Caci of Beaver; Gary Felton, Jr. and his fiancée Sheena Miller of Clymer; Michael Felton of Virginia, and great grandson, Tyler Felton of Clymer. He will also be missed by his step-siblings: Nancy Gonyea of Florida; Karen Daviau of Massachusetts; and Jim McNamara of Rhode Island; and his beloved dog, Daisy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received, Friday, March 22nd from 5 until 8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. A funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 11 AM at the funeral home, Rev. George Saletrik will officiate. Interment will be at a later date.
