Obituary for William "Shan" Hodak Sr.

William Shan Hodak, Sr., 69, of Indiana and formerly of Clymer, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at his home. Born in Carlisle on July 25, 1950, he was the son of the late William Hodak and Francis (Frampton) Hodak. He was the widower of Rita Jean (Coursel) Hodak, who passed away June 28, 2017. They were married nearly 41 years.

Shan was an avid fisherman. He also loved to tinker with cars and woodworking projects. He loved to be with his family, especially his five grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his daughters: Carrie Hodak Norris and her husband, Thomas of Greensburg and Kelly Swigart and her husband, Jeffrey of Creekside. His grandchildren are: Kalee Hill, Kimberlee Hill, and Olivia Norris, all of Greensburg; Brian Foehrenbach, and Brenna Hodak, both of Creekside. Shan will also be remembered by his close friends: Ariel & Linda Rosa, Chicago, IL and Karen and Steve Heffren, Illinois.

In addition to his wife and parents, Shan was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cathy Michelle Hodak and by his sister, Cathy Hodak Gruber.

A Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled for a later date. The Hodak Family is being assisted by the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana with cremation at the Rairigh-Bence Crematory.
