Obituary for Anna Mariskanish

Anna  Mariskanish
Anna Louise (Zuray) Mariskanish, 90, of Penn Run died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 19, 1926 in Heilwood. She a daughter of Joseph John Zuray and Franciska (Bregar) Zuray. She was married Samuel Mariskanish and together they shared 68 years of marriage.

Ann worked at home raising her family and enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She volunteered her time in helping with the ICAPP organization of Indiana County. Ann also was involved as an election clerk in Pine Township for many years.

She is survived by her husband and their six children: Sandra Mariskanish Rockmore & husband Michael, Cooperstown; Mary Mariskanish and husband David, Penn Run; Yvonne Mariskanish Dougherty & husband Gerard, Penn Run; Ann Marie Mariskanish Gialanella & husband Kenneth, Adamsburg, PA; and Samuel Mariskanish Jr. and wife Kelly, Canonsburg. She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren and her siblings: Helen Long Akron, Ohio; Josephine Zagrodniczek, Springfield, VA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Frank Zuray, Stanley Zuray, Joseph Zuray, Frances Michny, and Mary Gorenc.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 28th from 8:30AM to 10:00AM, at St. John The Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Dixonville. A Divine Liturgy will be held at 10:00AM with Rev. Father George Hnatko.
