What You Should Bring to Our Initial Meeting
Please know that you and your family have our heartfelt condolences following the loss of a family member or close friend. We have made a list of things to bring to our meeting because during this very difficult time, it is easy to forget some of the most important items that are essential to finalize the service arrangements for your loved one.
Below is a list of some of the most common information and personal items you should bring with you to our Initial Meeting. Not everything will apply to the arrangements made for your family member or friend.
- Photograph (for the obituary, website, hairstyling, cosmetics, memorial folders)
- Information about the Deceased: Full Name; Place of Birth; Date of Birth; Social Security Number; Military Discharge-DD-214; Parents Names including the Mother’s Maiden Name; Occupation of the Deceased; Business or Industry that Employed the Deceased when they were working
- Cemetery Information
- Clothing: Underclothing, Dress, Suit or Other Clothing. We recommend long sleeve shirts, higher neck lines, socks or stockings, (belts and shoes are optional)
- Eyeglasses & Jewelry: These items are optional but recommended if the person wore eyeglasses and or jewelry most of the time. Upon request, jewelry can be removed and returned prior to the burial or cremation
- Dentures – If they are available
- Name of the Clergy who will be involved with the Funeral or Memorial Service
- List of Surviving Family Members
- List of Family Members who preceded this person in death
- Name the hobbies, activities and organizations this person enjoyed
