Obituary for Arthur R. Krause

Arthur Ralph Krause, 88, of Indiana, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at the Scenery Hill Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Indiana. Born in Johnstown, April 11, 1926, he was a son of the late William Krause and Maddie (Renondon) Krause. He was widowed from his wife of 44 years, Patricia C. (Etheridge) Krause, who died March 31, 1997.

He graduated from Johnstown High School and Grove City College.

Arthur was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a rifleman in Company G, 38th Infantry Regiment, serving in Central Europe.

He was a former business man in Indiana where he owned and operated the Koontz and George Insurance Agency for nearly 20 years. Following retirement he cared for his “second home” in the village of Home where he enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. Arthur also liked to read the newspaper to stay current with local events.

He was a member of the Graystone Presbyterian Church, Indiana.

He is survived by his two daughters; Sandy Daumit and Deborah K. Krause, both of Indiana. Other survivors include his two brothers: Carl Krause, Wyoming and Roy Krause, Carlisle.

In addition to his wife, parents and son-in-law, E.A. Daumit, Jr., he was preceded in death by the following siblings: Ada Woods; Paul, Harold and Ray Krause; and Janet Strict.

Friends will be received from 6 – 8 PM, Thursday, August 28th at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana, where his funeral will be held at 11 o’clock Friday morning with Pastor Rick Hurley, officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.
