He was a fixture in the Dutch Run community for 50 years where he enjoyed managing the groundhog and deer populations by practicing his shooting skills. (William “Bill” Sprankle) Malcolm, of Indiana; and a special friend, Connor Sharp. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Leonard B. “Red” Spence, Robert L. Spence, Alphosis L. Adamson, and an infant sister.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of Beacon Ridge for the care they provided during his time there.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday evening, April 29, 2014, at 7:00 PM at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, 965 Philadelphia Street, Indiana, PA with Pastor Kathy Milhoerck officiating. Interment will be private in the Atwood Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:30 PM until the time of the service.
