Obituary for Charles Robert "Chuck" Reed
Charles Robert Reed (Chuck), 73, of Grant Twp., Marion Center, PA died Saturday morning, May 21, 2016 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, PA.
He was the son of Arthur Reed and Emma (Henry) Reed, was born and raised in the Blairsville, PA area and attended Indiana High School.
Chuck worked for many years at Robert Shaw Controls in Indiana, PA as a machinist before the company moved out of Indiana. He also worked as a Grant Twp. Supervisor for several years and as a school bus driver for the Purchase Line School District.
He loved being out in the open doors where he enjoyed mowing grass and watching the variety of wild animals and birds around his country home and in the surrounding areas. Chuck also loved going to the Odd Fellows Club of Rochester Mills and playing cards with his mutual club member friends.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Patricia Joann (Burns) Reed to whom he was married for almost 52 years; his son, Charles Robert Reed, Jr. of East Fallowfield, PA and his wife Elizabeth Fechner Reed and three grandchildren (Alexandra, Emma and Eric); his sister Jean (Reed) Ewing and husband Ray of Mentor-On- The-Lake, OH; his sister Wilma (Reed) Manzel of Tallmedge, OH; his grandsons, Chas Sedore of Hebron,
IL and Eric Schultz of Algonquin, IL; a great-grand- daughter, Aleiysha Schultz of Algonquin, IL; and his sisters-in- law, Kate Reed of Homer City, PA; Mary Lou McKee of Pinehurst, NC; Dolores Jean Blazek of
Hiram, OH; Darlene Sugar of Swartz Creek, MI; Janet Brown of Indio, CA; Dianna Burns of Marion Center, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Sheila J. Reed of Hebron, IL, who passed away February 16, 2007; his brothers, Al Reed of Indiana, PA and Jack Reed of Homer City, PA; and his sister Joanne (Reed) McCombs of Commodore, PA.
Family and friends will be received from 6PM to 8PM, Tuesday, May 24 th at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home in Clymer, PA where his funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, May 25 th. Interment will follow in East Mahoning Cemetery in Grant Township located on Sebring Rd.
