Obituary for E. Ruth Knupp

E. Ruth Knupp, 93, of Indiana, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 in Indiana.   Born in Purchase Line on September 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Blaine Knupp and Pearle (Burkett) Knupp. 

She graduated from the former Green Township High School in Commodore in 1939 and then attended classes at Akron University. For many years, Ruth was a familiar face to the patrons of the former Penn
Furniture store in Indiana. She worked more than 38 years at the store, including 25 years as the office manager.  

Ruth enjoyed traveling and loved to recount her trips to the Holy Land and across the United States including a trip to Hawaii. She also enjoyed eating out with her friends and staying active.

Ruth was a 52 year member of the Indiana BPW and a longtime member of the Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Bernadine Shank of Clymer, and 10 nieces
and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her siblings:Elaine Mumau, Aleathe Edwards, Arleen Knupp and Eileen Horvath.

Friends will be received Sunday, June 12 th  from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. Ruth’s funeral will be held Monday afternoon at two o’clock at the funeral home.

Pastor Kathy Mihoerck will officiate. Burial will be in the East Mahoning Cemetery, Purchase Line.
