Obituary for Eileen B. Plivelic (Brosig)

Eileen (Brosig) Plivelic, 92, of Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 21 at the Communities at Indian Haven, Indiana, PA surrounded by her loving family. Born in Johnstown on August 17, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Brosig and Elfrieda (Niessner) Brosig. She was the wife of Mark Plivelic, whom she married on June 1, 1957.

Eileen was an outstanding and devoted homemaker who lovingly cared for her husband and five children. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, and she was always their biggest supporter. While Eileen enjoyed spending time with friends and family, she also enjoyed singing and traveling.

Eileen was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church, Indiana and Catholic Daughters of America.

In addition to her husband Mark, Eileen is survived by the following children: Marianne Pierce, Indiana; Lisa (David) Dillon, Shelocta; Christopher (Mary) Plivelic, Greensburg; Joseph (Diana) Plivelic, Indiana; and Karyn (Mark) Coy, Pittsburgh. She was a loving Grandma, "Gia" to Erin Pierce, Brianna Dillon, Nichelle Plivelic, Ryan Plivelic, Joey Plivelic, Blair Plivelic, Dylan Coy, Jadyn Coy, Alyssa Coy and Hunter Coy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Brosig.

Friends will be received Saturday October 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana, where the Catholic Daughters of America will recite the Rosary Saturday afternoon at 3:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 10 AM at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church, Indiana. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, caregivers, and staff at VNA Hospice of Indiana County and the Communities at Indian Haven for all of their endless love and care for Eileen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Eileen's memory to the VNA Hospice of Indiana County, 850 Hospital Rd., Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701 or to the Communities at Indian Haven, 1675 Saltsburg Ave., Indiana, PA 15701.
