Obituary for Eleanor Jean Skultety (Gunter)

Eleanor Jean  Skultety (Gunter)
Eleanor Jean (Gunter) Skultety, 84, of Lucerne Mines, went home to the loving arms of the Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2015. She was at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

The daughter of the late Lewis and Dorothy (Scott) Gunter, she was born on January 31, 1931 in Indiana, PA

Eleanor was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lucerne. She was a loving mother who adored children. Eleanor was a beloved child care provider for many years. She is well known for caring for the children in her charge like one of her own. Eleanor enjoyed yard sales, playing flinch, country music and recently she became an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan!! Her quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children: Sandra (Skultety) Bocz and husband Wayne of Homer City; Robert (Bucko) Skultety and wife Cindy of Homer City; Stephen Skultety, of Penn Run; Terry Skultety and wife Nancy of Homer City; Karen Skultety of Jeannette; eight grandchildren: Michael Bocz of Tidioute; David Bocz and wife Melissa of Lucerne Mines; Erick Skultety of Homer City; Deanna Liningston-Lane and husband David of Carolina Beach, NC; Courtney Skultety, of Indiana; Breanne Skultety of Washington DC; Kolby Skultety of Homer City; Keely Skultety of Homer City; six great-grandchildren: Ian Bocz, Peyton Bocz, Rachel Skultety, Brandon Williams, Zachary Williams, Caitlyn Lentz; two brothers: Richard Gunter of Michigan and Raymond Gunter and wife MaryAnn of Johnstown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Stephen W. “Bross” Skultety; two sisters: Betty Balue and Kathryn “Tootie” Lucas, and three brothers: Lewis Jr., James and William Gunter.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 3p.m. to 5p.m. and 7p.m. to 9p.m. at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lucerne, with Rev. Ronald Cyktor, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
