Obituary for Eleanora G. "Nere" Grumbling (Celenza)

Eleanora G. "Nere" Grumbling (Celenza)
Eleanora G. "Nere" (Celenza) Grumbling, 85 of Heilwood, PA., passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Indiana Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of Patsy and Elizabeth (Saiani) Celenza, born on January 20, 1929 in Spangler, PA.
Eleanora was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. Known for her cooking skills, she loved preparing meals for her family and special dishes for their many summer family picnics. Her sense of humor and laugh were contagious, and she always managed to maintain a positive outlook, regardless of the circumstances. She served as a postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service for 43 years and loved interacting with people on a daily basis. She always had a smile and kind word for everyone. She had a beautiful singing voice and sang for her church for many years.

She was an avid supporter of Penns Manor sports and loved attending games and listening to them on the radio. She adored the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates and was always proud to wear her black and gold. Watching sports on t.v. was one of her favorite past times.

There was nothing more important to her than her family, and she always had an endless supply of hugs and kisses for the children. If anyone in her family was sick, she was always there to make sure they had everything they needed and nurse them back to health. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her sister-in-law and best friend, Helen Louise, and they spent hours laughing and reminiscing on the many beach vacations and all-day shopping trips they shared through the years.

Eleanora was a kind, loving and gentle spirit and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. As she would always say, "Love you more."

She is survived by her daughter, Traci A. Grumbling of Blairsville; one brother, Michael Celenza of Northern Cambria; one granddaughter, Tara Keith and husband Cody of Heilwood; one great-grandson, Logan Robert Keith of Heilwood; sister-in-law and dear friend; Helen Davis of Heilwood and Kathy Newquist; nieces and nephews; Margo Inskeep and husband Don of Bowie, MD; Jill Eckenrode and husband Bill of Heilwood; Todd Davis and wife Sandi of Heilwood; Michelle and Maria Celenza; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Eleanora was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert G. Grumbling; and one son, Robert G. Grumbling.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Clymer. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, Heilwood with Fr. George Saletrik as celebrant. Interment will be in Cameron’s Bottom Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Miracle League Field of Indiana Co., PO Box 1457, Indiana, PA., 15701.
