Obituary for Esther Ruth Bourdess (Bagley)
Esther Ruth (Bagley) Bourdess, 88 of Indiana, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Scenery Hill Manor. Born in Indiana on July 6, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Roy Bagley and Mary (Sickenberger) Bagley. She was the widow of Andrew Bourdess who died April 27, 1997.
Esther enjoyed being a homemaker and caring for her family. She liked cooking for both her family and friends. In her later years she looked forward to spending time with her eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was a former member of the Indiana Church of the Nazarene.
Esther will be remembered by her children: Andrew Bourdess, Jr., Bridgeton, NJ; Shirley Myers & husband, Howard, Indiana; and son-in-law, Floyd Lockard, Indiana. In addition to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, she will be remembered by her sister, Freeda Palombo, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her: son, Gary Bourdess; daughter, Diana Lockard; daughter-in-law, Kathy Bourdess and sister, Grace Kowchuck.
Friends will be received Monday, November 24th from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, the time of her funeral service at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. Pastor William Dekenkolb will officiate. Interment will be in the Grove Chapel Cemetery, Indiana.
The Bourdess family would like to thank Bash’s Personal Care Home and Scenery Hill Manor for the excellent care Esther received while residing at their two facilities. Memorial donations may be made to: Bash’s Personal Care Home, 154 Bash Rd, Commodore, PA 15729, or to Scenery Hill Manor, 680 Lions Health Camp Rd, Indiana, PA 15701.
