Obituary for George R. Miltz

George R.  Miltz
George Robert Miltz, 84, of Indiana, died, Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the Beacon Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Indiana. Born in Cincinnati, OH on August 7, 1931, he was a son of the late George Miltz and Delores (Springfield) Miltz.

He married Anne Mary Doud on June 14, 1960. Together they raised three sons and are grandparents to four grandchildren.

George retired in 2003 following a 35 year career at IUP where he taught Latin and Greek. He received his undergraduate degree at Xavier University, his Master's Degree at St. Louis University and did his Doctoral work at the University of Cincinnati.

He enjoyed reading, loved teaching and connecting with his students. He always tried to make personal contacts whenever possible, which was his way of meeting more people. More than anything, George loved his wife, Anne, and visited with her every day. He also loved and adored his sons and their families. He was a member of St, Thomas More University Parish, Indiana.

In addition to his wife, Anne, his is survived by his sons: Peter Miltz, Indiana; Andrew Miltz & wife Julie (Rudy), Lancaster; and Timothy Miltz & wife, Kendra (Brode), Indiana. Other surviving family members include his grandchildren: Sophie and Isabelle Miltz, Los Angeles, CA; Logan Miltz, Indiana and Lucas Miltz, Lancaster. His sister is Delores Bauer, Cincinnati, OH.

Friends will be received Monday evening, December 28th from 7 to 9 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at ten o’clock at the St. Thomas More University Parish, celebrant, Rev. Alan N. Polczynski. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
