Obituary for Harry C. Mariskanish

Harry C. Mariskanish, 90 of Clymer, PA., passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at his home.

He was the son of Charles and Famia (Hosack) Mariskanish, born March 29, 1925 in Cameron Bottom.

Harry was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Heilwood, PA. He was a quiet soul who loved to be outdoors and watch the birds and deer. Harry was a retired coal miner from Barnes and Tucker Local 1269.

He is survived by his wife, Marianna (Benyacko) Mariskanish of Clymer; children, Thomas of PA; Harry I of SC; Tony and wife Debbie of Nevada; Paul and fiancé Jen of WS; Edward of Washington; Marie Hogan of PA; Susan and husband Dennis Reyna of TX; stepchildren, Marianna and husband Steve Glover of PA; Denise Benyacko of PA; Cindee and husband Joe Byer of PA; one brother, Sam and wife Ann of PA; grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, son, Charles Edward; brothers, Joe, Steve and John; Sisters, Mary Ulken, Katherine Zuray and Helen Malnar.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Clymer. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection, Heilwood with Fr. George Saltrik as celebrant. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.

Special thanks to Heritage Hospice, Dr. Matt Vasil and Staff, Special care giver, Jean Hunter and the many friends and relatives who helped with Harry’s care.
