Obituary for Horace D. Lowman Jr.

Horace D.  Lowman Jr.
Horace Doyle Lowman, Jr., 76, of rural Marion Center, died at his home where he had battled several illnesses, Saturday, August 2nd, 2014. The son of the late Horace D. Lowman, Sr. and Estelle (Simpson) Lowman, he was born in Dixonville on October 23, 1937.

He was a member of the final graduating class of the former Green Township High School in Commodore. Horace was a heavy equipment operator, having worked for the GLR Mining Company. Due to health concerns he retired in 1999.

He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and gardening. He was also a talented wood worker. Horace was a member of the Mahoning Senior Center in Punxsutawney and was active with Senior Life in Indiana.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Annabell Marsh, whom he married October 18, 1958. His surviving sons are: Joseph Lowman & wife, Tammie, Marion Center; Timothy Lowman & wife, Lisa, Penn Run; Brad Lowman & wife, Marie, Forestdale, MA; and David Lowman & wife, Vickie, Marion Center, PA. His surviving grandchildren are: Shannon Lowman; Stephanie Yarger & husband, William; Timothy Lowman, Jr.; Aaron Lowman; Michael Lowman; Hannah & Jacob Lowman; Ben Rader; Jeremy Lowman; Amy Lowman; Jason Lowman & girlfriend, Deidre Custer, Surviving great grandchildren are: Kamryn Rader; Alyssa Yarger; and Luke & Nick Lowman. He is also survived by his siblings: Stella Baker, Smicksburg; Alex Lowman, Indiana and Edna Boring, Cherry Tree.

In addition to his parents, Horace was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Dennis and Dwight Lowman.

The will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment will be made at a later date in the East Mahoning Cemetery, Purchase Line. The Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Inc. of Clymer is assisting the Lowman Family.
