Obituary for Ira C. Boyer
Ira C. Boyer Jr., 81 of Indiana, PA., went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at his home.
Ira was the son of Ira C. and Mary (Walker) Boyer, born on July 16, 1934 in Indiana, PA.
Ira graduate from Indiana Senior High School. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving four years. He worked his entire career doing plumbing, heating, air conditioning, owning his own business, Boyer Plumbing and Heating for more than 30 years. Ira enjoyed going to church, working, gardening, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Brown) Boyer; three children, Brian and wife Patty; Beth; Bradley and wife Marcia; three grandchildren, Laetitia, Ethan, and Madison; two step grandchildren, Jim, and Mike Gardner; one brother, Robert and wife Barbara; two sisters, Mary Gilbert and Jane Dixson.
Ira was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, James, William, Wilbert, John, Harry, and Wallace; two daughters, Bonnie and infant daughter, Doris.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Indiana. His funeral service will be held on Friday, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be made in the Oakland Cemetery.
The family wishes that memorial contributions be made to: Grace Independent Baptist Church, 350 Mail St., PO Box 1, Shelocta, PA 15774.
