Obituary for John J Steffish

John Jesse Roy "Sonny'' Steffish , 80, of Creekside, PA., passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.
He was the son of George and Mary Katherine (Hardick) Steffish, born on August 8, 1933 in Rossiter, PA.
John was of the Catholic Faith. He was a self-employed Plastering Contractor. John was an avid fisherman and loved to bowl and play poker. He was also a member of the EAGLES club. John was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by five children, John E. of Creekside; Alice Balogh of Creekside; Timothy J. Sr. and wife Becke of Indiana; Rudolph Albert of Creekside; Andrew P. and spouse Samuel Graddy of Malvern, PA; six grandchildren, Cassey and husband Jason Bazala; Timothy J. Steffish Jr. and wife Catherine; John W. Balogh; Bradley D. Balogh; Ashley D. Cherry and Daniel G. Cherry; six great-grandchildren, Joseph, Angel, Madison, Calab, Evan, Madison L.; two brothers, Rudolph Steffish of Creekside; Michael Steffish and wife Betty of Indiana; dear friend Pearl McCullough and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Steffish Is Also Survived By Special Family Friend Denise Gromley.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 44 years, Alice M. (Hughes) Steffish; two brothers, Andrew and George; three sisters, Mary Riley, Pauline Kovalyak and Irene Gallo; daughter-in-law, Dawn Steffish and son-in-law, Stephen Balogh.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home Indiana. His funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Fr. William A. Lascelles. Interment will be made in St. Adrina’s Cemetery in Punxsutawney.
