Obituary for Katherine Marusa (Julock)

Katherine (Julock) Marusa, 96, Indiana, formerly of Dixonville, died Monday, July 4, 2016 at the Communities of Indian Haven where she was a resident.

Born in Rochester Mills on March 16, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Julock and Anna (Kotick) Julock. She was the widow of Pete Marusa who died December 17, 2003.

Katherine was a homemaker whose work was to care for her family. She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer.

She is survived by her children: Steve Marusa, Deckers Point; Elizabeth “Betty” Hogan, Plumville; Judith “Judy” Cramer & husband, Donald, Penn Run and Teresa “Terri” Schar & husband, Jay, Harmony. Katherine is also survived by: nine grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Other survivors include her sister, Rose Pappal of Indiana; daughter-in-law, Helen Kost of St. Benedict and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Katherine was preceded in death by a son, William Marusa and the following siblings: Charles, John, Nick, Mike and Pete Julock; Mary Yankusky, Anna Bilunka, Eva Stango, Julia Cimbala and an infant brother, Julian Julock. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Joseph Hogan.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, July 7th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer. Rev. George Saletrik, celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of Indiana County, 850 Hospital Rd # 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
