Obituary for Kathryn Duigou (Chesko)

Kathryn (Chesko) Duigou, 93 of Clymer went home to her Lord, joining her second family in Heaven on Friday, February 6, 2015. She had been living at Rose Haven Personal Care Home in Indiana over the past several years. Born in Buck Run, February 7, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Paul Chesko and Kathryn (Maruschak) Chesko.

She was of the Catholic Faith. Kathryn spent her life living in Clymer with her loving husband Henry where together they raised five children. Kathryn will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was also well known for her love of cooking and baking. Some of her tastiest dishes were: stuffed cabbage, pierogies, nut rolls, and homemade bread, just to name a few. Whenever she cooked, she always made enough to share with her family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters: Janice McDannell and husband, Roger, Penn Run and Joanne Davis and husband, Bob, Stow, OH. Kathryn is also survived by her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Other survivors include: daughter-in-laws, Kathy and Nancy Duigou and son-in-law, Francis “Fran” Russell.

In addition to her parents and husband of fifty years, Henry J. Duigo who died in 1989, Kathryn was preceded in death by her oldest son, Henry “Bud” Duigou in 2007; son, Leonard Duigou in 2011; daughter, Elaine Russell in 2011 and grandson, John Mintzer in 2014; siblings: Paul, William and Edward Chesko and Margaret Swartz and Helen Marolet. Kathryn was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 9th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 10 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, Clymer. Rev. Timothy Kruthaupt will be the celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Clymer.

Special thanks to the staff at Rose Haven and to the Asera Care Hospice who lovingly cared for our mother, Kathryn. Thank You.
