Louise  Strittmatter (Boczar)
Louise Strittmatter, 87, died peacefully in her home in Indiana on Friday, February 19, 2016, while surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Waterman, PA, on November 16, 1928, Louise was the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Pisch) Boczar.

Louise attended Homer City High School and upon graduation worked at the Indiana Hospital. In 1957, she and her late husband, James, opened a Nationwide Insurance Office on the corner of 4th and Philadelphia Street where they worked together for 34 years until their retirement in 1991.

Fully dedicated to her faith, Louise was a devoted member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Indiana, PA and a long-time member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Louise was an avid reader and, as a member of the Opti-Mrs., she served as a volunteer in the Indiana Little League concession stand for 40 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed arranging flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 57 years, James. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, Gerald, Edward, Henry and Cashmer Boczar.

Louise deeply loved her family. She is survived by her four children: Ann Harvey (and husband, Lee) of Winchester, Virginia; Patrick Strittmatter (and Shelley Crispens) of Indiana, PA; Gregory Strittmatter (and wife, Cyndy) of Indiana, PA; and Lisa Gardner (and husband, Don) of Indiana, PA. Her grandchildren: Nicholas Harvey (Bristow, Virginia), Benjamin Harvey (Bristow, Virginia), Rachel Strittmatter (Arlington, Virginia), Devon Gardner (Stephens City, Virginia), and Erin Strittmatter (Arlington, Virginia). She is also survived by her very special sisters, Dolores (Dolly) Smith (and husband, Duane) and Carol (Honey) Torzok (and husband, Frank), her dear sister-in-laws, Josephine Strittmatter, Mary Strittmatter and Rosemary Connolly and brother-in-laws, William Strittmatter and Father John Strittmatter. Louise had many nieces and nephews who adored their Aunt Weezy.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 on Monday, February 22 at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Indiana, where the Catholic Daughters of the Americas will hold a Rosary Service at 3:45 PM. . A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am at St. Bernard of Clairvaux on Tuesday, February 23, followed by interment at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association – Family Hospice, 850 Hospital Road #3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
