Obituary for Lucille McCracken (McManus)

Lucille (McManus) Marsh McCracken, 95, of Clymer died following a brief illness, Wednesday morning, August 19, 2015 at the home of her daughter, Pattie in Clymer. Born in Cherry Tree, July 31, 1920, she was a daughter of the late George McManus and Pearl (Pittman) McManus.

Many may remember her as a cafeteria cook at Penns Manor High School. She was also a longtime member of the Clymer United Methodist Church where she was active with the United Methodist Women.

She is survived by two children: James Marsh and wife, Margaret and Patricia L. Clark and husband, Samuel, both of Clymer. Also surviving her are her grandchildren: Patricia Shaffer, Heilwood; Angela Schinko, Georgia; and Ashley Learn, Cherryhill Township. Great Grandchildren: Adrienne Clark, Wisconsin; Brooke and James Shaffer, Heilwood and Great Great Grandchildren: Hunter and Annabelle Yuma, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her siblings: Wilford McManus, Warren, OH and Glady Tucker, North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Clarence Marsh who died in 1947 and Robert H. McCracken, Jr. who died in 1971. Lucille was also preceded by her son, Robert H. McCracken, III, as well as four sisters and one brother.

Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. Her funeral service will begin at 5 PM at the funeral home. Rev. Sharon Waltenbaugh, her pastor, will officiate. Burial will be private at Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
