Obituary for Marie H. Strozak (Paluchak)

Marie Strozak, 98, of Indiana, died Monday, October 20, 2014 at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home in Home.

She was born June 19, 1916, in Johnstown, PA, to Joseph and Mary (Pollak) Paluchak. She was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Indiana.

Marie was a graduate of Johnstown High School and Cambria Rowe Business College. Following graduation from Cambria Rowe she was employed at the Department of Public Welfare in Johnstown. Marie finished her career as a secretary at Rhodes-Stabley Library, IUP.

She is survived by three daughters; Jeanne Puskar and husband Paul of Hollidaysburg; Janet Krall and husband Ernest of Camp Hill and Carol Boone and husband Daniel of Indiana. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Adam (Lori) Boone of Beaver; Elizabeth Puskar of Portland Oregon; Ann (Daniel) Barnaby of Glen Allen, VA; Eric (Ellesse) Krall of Oakton, VA; Stephen (Mandi) Boone of Allentown; and Alicia Krall of Arlington, VA. Four great-grandchildren also survive her: David Barnaby, Elena and Ariana Boone, and Penelope Krall. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive her.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stephen; three brothers, Robert, William and Joseph Paluchak; two sisters Margaret Gyure and Elizabeth Paluchak.

Friends will be received immediately prior to the service at St. Bernard of Clairvaux on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 10AM to 11AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of Indiana County, 1165 Philadelphia St. Indiana, PA 15701 or to the National Federation of the Blind, 220 E. Wells Street, Baltimore, MD 21230.
