Obituary for Marlin Russel Miller

Marlin Russel  Miller
Marlin Russel Miller, 73, of Home, PA, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Antonina (Bruno) Miller.

Marlin was born August 9, 1940 in Kittanning, Armstrong County. He was the son of Russel Edison Miller and Mary Elizabeth (Rosenberger) Miller Wells. He left school to join the Navy in 1957 and served through 1961 on the USS Braine in the Pacific region.

Marlin married his wife, the former Antonina Bruno, on June 9, 1962. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He also cut stones and handcrafted jewelry. He enjoyed travel and had especially memorable trips with his wife to Europe, England and Mexico. Marlin particularly enjoyed reunions with his former Navymen.

Marlin worked as an electrician, first working for Kranco Company of Houston, TX and later for Halliburton. He retired, due to health reasons, in 1998.

He is survived by his wife and two of his three children: RoseAnn M. Dorman of Florence, Alabama and Michael G. Miller of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He is survived by his sister, Garnet Staton and husband Larry of Hollywood, Florida; his half-brother, Steve Miller and wife Mary of Cincinnati, OH and two half-sisters. The following grandchildren also survive him: Christopher Ray Dorman, of Texas; James Edward Littleton, II, of Alabama; and Daniel Jacob Littleton of Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Mary Elizabeth Miller.

Viewing will be held at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana, 965 Philadelphia St. in Indiana on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from noon until 2. His funeral will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home and will be conducted by VNA Hospice Chaplain, Tom Spiker. Burial will be held at a later date.
