Obituary for Maxine A. Walker

Maxine A. Walker, 85, died on March 12, 2015 at the Communities at Indian Haven in Indiana, PA. She was born April 7, 1929 in Kittanning to Albert A. Schultze and Daphne (Beck) Schultze-Kuelper.

Maxine lived most of her life in the Kittanning area. After graduating from Kittanning High School in 1947, she took a job with the Kittanning Telephone Company, where she worked until after her marriage to Arthur A. Walker in 1962.

Maxine was an avid bowler. She was a member of the Allegheny Women’s League at King Lanes in Kittanning for more than 40 years. She also enjoyed vacations and out-of-town shopping trips with her friends.

She is survived by her son, Ernest Walker, her daughter-in-law, Janet Walker, and her granddaughter, Abigail Walker, all of Indiana, PA; her sister, Mary Alice Bennett of Kittanning; her brother, James Schultze of Kittanning; several cousins, including Mary Crossan of Leechburg; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who died in 1976, and three brothers, William Schultze, Frances Schultze, and Robert Schultze.

There will be no visitation or services for Maxine. She will be buried privately next to her husband at Lawnhaven Burial Estates near Worthington, PA. Arrangements are being made by the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home in Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
