Obituary for Paul William Beilchick

Paul William  Beilchick
Paul Beilchick, 92, of Heilwood, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. The son of Michael Beilchick and Kathryn (Duga) Beilchick, he was born January 31, 1922 in Heilwood.

He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 until 1946. After the war, he graduated from Vale Technical Institute, Blairsville as an auto body mechanic and went to work for Westrick Motors in Carrolltown. In 1950, Paul was one of the original founders of Beilchick Brothers Coal Mining. In 2012, his sons, Ron and Dan, became his partners, and Paul remained active in the business until his passing.

Paul loved working on and restoring antique cars. He was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America, Punxsutawney Region. He was an active member of the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alverda. He also belonged to the Heilwood American Legion, Post 936.

On September 10, 2008, he was widowed from his wife of 62 years, Ann (Balko) Beilchick, whom he married June 17, 1946. A loving father and Pap-pap, he is survived by four children: Ronald Beilchick and wife Antionette (Miller), Heilwood; Jean Bence, Clymer; Daniel Beilchick and wife Patricia (Szwast), Heilwood; and Christine King and husband Murray, Marion Center; seven grandchildren: Grace Ann (Beilchick) married to Ryan Shellenbarger; Dr. Christie (Bence) married to Chris Stewart; Shane Bence; Caitlyn Bence; Adam Beilchick; Dr. Jessica King-Dylewski married to Dr. Jayme Dylewski; and Zachary King.

Mr. Beilchick is also survived by his sister, Christine Anderson, of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Nancy Ann Beilchick, on December 13, 1952; and the following siblings: Kate Novak, Michael Beilchick, Marie Franklin, Ann Ratay, John Beilchick, Betty Klamar, Sue Tomasko, Steve Beilchick, Ed Beilchick, and an infant sister, Mildred. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Patrick Bence, who died earlier this year.

Visitation is Friday, May 16 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. His funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home. Pastor Diane Britten will officiate. Interment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery, Indiana.
