Obituary for Robert Albert "Cowboy" Davis

Robert Albert Davis, 75, of Commodore, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Indiana Regional Medical Center, after falling ill at the home of his sister, Betty Jane. He was the husband of the late Ruby (Carnahan) Davis, who died April 29, 1992.

He was born August 13, 1938 in Homer City, the son of the late Clarence A. and Mary J. (Hess) Davis.

He was a heavy equipment operator for Pellegrene. He was a CB radio enthusiast, who went by the handle “Cowboy”. Bob was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He was quite proud of his belt buckle collection and he loved spending time with his dog “King”.

He is survived by his step-son, Gary Carnahan of Hillsdale. His surviving siblings include: Betty Jane Goss of Commodore; Mary Gearhart of Indiana; Elma Roberts of Mims, Florida; Violet Carroll of Lorain, Ohio; Shirley Ressler of Creekside; James Davis of Penn Run; William Davis of Commodore; and Wilda Keith of RD Cherry Tree. In addition, two step-grandchildren survive him: Zack and Rebecca Carnahan, both of Hillsdale.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Marie Blystone.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 5-7PM at Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. His service will be held immediately following the visitation at 7PM. The Rev. Calvin Duvall will officiate. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Indiana.
