Obituary for Ronald G. Rethi Sr.

Ronald George Rethi, Sr., 85, of Clymer, died at his home, Thursday, December 3, 2015. Born in Clymer, April 14, 1930 he was a son of the late Joseph Rethi and Kathryn (Kish) Rethi.

Ron served in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He then worked for 35 years at Westinghouse in Blairsville.

He was an avid fisherman and an expert fly-tier. He attended the Lord Jesus Christ Assembly, Oakland Ave., Indiana.

Ron is survived by his wife, Janet (Greene) Rethi and the following children: Ronald Rethi, Jr, Latrobe; daughter-in-law, Mildred Rethi, Indiana; Greg Rethi and wife, Joan (Borzcik) Rethi, Boiling Springs, SC; Beth Ann Fanning and husband, Thomas, Indiana; Amy Barto and husband, Bill, Indiana.

Ron is also survived by his eight grandchildren: Ronald Rethi, III; Hannah (Rethi) Williamson & husband, Neal; Mandy Rethi & friend, David Harrell; Patrick Fanning; Erin Fanning; Luke, Reed and Tabitha Barto. Also surviving Ron, are his brother, Curtis Rethi & wife, Charlotte, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers.

Friends will be received Sunday, December 6th from 11AM until 1 PM at Ron’s Home, Barr Slope Road, Clymer, where his funeral service will begin at one o’clock Sunday afternoon. Pastor Joe Smith will officiate. Burial will be at the New Life Lutheran Cemetery, Marion Center. The Rethi Family is being assisted by the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer.

Military rites will be provided by the Clymer American Legion.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the VNA Hospice of Indiana County, 850 Hospital Rd. Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
