Obituary for Roseann Lutonsky (Nastase) RN

Roseann Lutonsky (Nastase) RN
Roseann (Nastase) Lutonsky, of Indiana, unexpectedly went to our Lord on Sunday, January 3rd , 2016. She is a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Isabel H. (Visnesky) Nastase.

She was admitted to Indiana Regional Medical Center on December 20, 2015 with a significantly broken femur and kidney infection. Following a short stay at that facility, she was airlifted to Allegheny General Hospital. Her family is deeply saddened that after spending her shorted life as a critical care nurse saving so many others, medical interventions could not save her.

Roseann received her R.N. degree from Presbyterian Hospital School in Pittsburgh, PA. Following her graduation, she entered the U.S. Army Nurse Corp where she earned the rank of Captain. She served as a head nurse in the Vietnam Conflict.

Upon returning from Vietnam, she filled her military commitment at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. Roseann also worked at the Albuquerque V.A. Hospital and later received her B.S. in Nursing while working at the Audie L. Murphy V.A. Hospital in San Antonio. In addition, she earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas. Before returning to Pennsylvania, she nursed at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston, Texas.

She had a very inquisitive and analytical mind which enabled her to satisfy her passion for knowledge. Roseann also enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. Roseann spent much of her free time helping others. She was very faithful to her commitment to her religion.

Roseann is survived by her three siblings: Karen Hamilton and her husband; Richard Nastase and Robert Nastase. She will also be sadly missed by her four nephews and five great nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Thursday evening, January 7th, 2016 from 7-9 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM at the St. Thomas More University Parish, Indiana. Father Alan Polczynski will be the celebrant at her Mass. Interment, with military honors, will be at St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
