Obituary for Russell B. Mason

Russell B. Mason, 62, of Indiana, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Linda Lee (Burns) Mason, whom he in Nicktown on September 29, 1973.

He was born in Spangler March 14, 1954 to the late Blair Russell Mason and Helen Louise (Kinter) Mason.

Russell held various jobs throughout his life: as a factory worker in Emporium, in the maintenance department at IUP and at Blue Spruce Park.

He loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Russell is survived by his wife and the following children: Helen Mason, of Kittanning; John Mason and his girlfriend Tina Esposti, of Indiana; Russell “Buck” Mason and his wife Betty, of Indiana; and Jamie Mason and his girlfriend Amanda Rearick, of Indiana. His surviving siblings include: George Mason (Betty) of Clymer; Don Mason (Rita), of Emeigh; Jerry Mason (Janet), of Emporium; David Mason (Linda), of Northern Cambria; Carol Bailey (and companion Randy Kopsic), of Penn Run; and James Mason, of Indiana. Russell had 8 grandchildren: Brian Mason, Elizabeth Mason, John Mason, Jr., Tabitha Mason, Noah Mason, Alissa Mason, Kevin Mason, and Sarah Clark. His great-grandson, Shane Clark, also survives him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and the following siblings: Bob Mason, John Mason, Patsy Banks, and Lois Kuntz, as well as son-in-law Ralph Clark.

Friends will be received Sunday, March 20th from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Clymer. His funeral will be held Monday morning at 11 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Independent Country Cemetery, Alverda.

The family welcomes memorial contributions to Linda Mason to help with funeral expenses.
