Obituary for Shirley A. Leonardo (Vehovic)

Shirley A.  Leonardo (Vehovic)
Shirley A. (Vehovic) Leonardo, 74, of Home, died at her residence following an extended illness on Sunday, August 7, 2016. Born in Mentcle on January 14, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Stephen Vehovic and Sophie (Bugay) Vehovic.

For nearly 35 years she has been the wife of Robert A. Leonardo.

Shirley worked at I.U.P. for 30 years as an administrative secretary. She was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic church where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America.

She was a hard working woman who enjoyed planting and caring for her gardens. Shirley had been a previous member of the Indiana Garden Club and participant with May Mart. One of her other favorite activities was painting.

In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by her son, Mark Richard Minto and his girlfriend, Dianna Kolcun, Home. Her grandchildren are: Misty Rose Reich, Michael Green & wife, Ashley and Devin and Donovan Minto. Shirley is also survived by her great grandchildren: Mason and Madison Green.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Minto; daughter, Jessica Reich and her twin sister, Gloria Stiffler.

Friends will be received Wednesday evening, August 10th from 6:00 until 8:00PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning at 10:00 AM at the St. Bernard of Clairvaux Roman Catholic Church in Indiana. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Shirley’s family asks that memorial donations be made to the Indiana County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 610 Kolter Dr., Indiana, PA 15701.
