Obituary for Stephen Berezansky

Stephen Berezansky, 84, of Indiana, formerly of Dixonville, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Beacon Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Indiana. Born in Dixonville on September 24, 19310, he was a son of the late, Alex Berezansky and Agnes (Kutney) Berezansky.

Stephen was a Korean and Vietnam veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy for seventeen and a half years. He specialized as a sonar man for the Navy.

Following his time in the Navy, Stephen worked for the U.S. government as a lift operator at the naval depots in New Cumberland and Mechanicsburg.

He was a lifetime member of the Stillton VFW, Post 710.

Stephen is survived by his children: Stephen Berezansky & wife, Judy, and a daughter, Cheryl, all of Bradford, MA. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Debbie Wenger & husband, Joe, Palmyra, PA and a brother, Michael Berezansky, Detroit, MI. Stephen is also remembered by his nieces and nephews: Mary Agnes Wahna, Altoona; Ann Lezanic & husband, Ronald, Indiana; Evelyn Fister & husband, Alphonse, Indiana; Helen Huff, Indiana and George Flanjack & wife, Mary, Safety Harbor, FL.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his wife, Sara E. (Michaels) Berezansky who died in 2003. He was also preceded in death by his siblings: Michael, William and Harry Berezansky; Ann Kittka; Evelyn Cunliffe; Mary Flanjack; and Nancy Kutney.

There will not be a local viewing or funeral service. A graveside funeral with military honors will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday afternoon, April 26th at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
Service arrangements are through the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana.
