Terry A. Gardner Sr., 61, Indiana, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at home with his family after an extended illness. He was born Dec. 26, 1951, a son of Otis and Betty (Hill) Gardner. He was married to the former SueAnn Jean Cochran.

She survives along with a daughter, Veronnica, married to Paul Rowan, Northern Cambria; sons Terry Jr. and wife Lisa, Lucernemines, and Gregory and fiancee, Anne Stiffler, Indiana; granddaughters Hannah and Marley, Indiana, and Ashley, Lucernemines,; and step-grandson Josh Gelles, Lucernemines.

Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Joey and wife Jackie, Tunnelton; George, Indiana; Rich and fiancee Rickie Weaver, Indiana; Kathy, Indiana; Nora Hancock and husband Walt, Indiana; Tammy Eiselman and husband Ronnie, Indiana; brothers-in-law Ron Cochran and his wife Sue, Indianapolis; and Rick Cochran and his wife Jackie, Brush Valley; 28 nieces and nephews and 33 great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Rose Edwards, Lugene Yount and Susan Taylor; and brothers Charles and Brian.

Mr. Gardner was a graduate of Homer-Center High School.

Before his illness, he was employed at Central Tractor Supply. He also worked as a Pennsylvania state constable and a security officer.

He was an active member of Cherryhill Township Volunteer Fire Company for 14 years, a life member of Homer City Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of the fire police association. He enjoyed helping others in need.

Mr. Gardner was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his beloved pets, Katie and Spanky.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home of Indiana. His funeral service will be held at eleven o’clock Wednesday morning at the funeral home. Pastor Elder Stanford Webb, Jr. will officiate. Following a procession past the Homer City Fire Hall, a funeral luncheon will be served at the fire hall. Burial will be private and held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
