Obituary for Tres Lawer

Tres Lawer, 91 of Indiana, died Friday, January 10, 2015 at the Specialty Select Hospital, Johnstown. Born in Yatesboro on January 7, 1924, he was a son of the late Wasyl Lawer and Mary (Semkiv) Lawer. He was married to Jean (Sammarco) Lawer.

Tres was a co-owner of the former Greensteel Corporation in Dixonville. His other business partners were his brother, Mike Lawer and Al Novak.

He was a World War II Veteran serving in the Navy. He was based out of the Naval Air Station, Alameda, CA. He also had a private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying on a regular basis.

Tres was an avid reader. He also enjoyed golfing, trout fishing and hunting. He was a big fan of the Steelers and loved to cook for his family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 47 years, he is survived by his daughter, Renee Dunlap & husband, Jason, Indiana and son, Tres Lawer & his wife, Shannon, Indiana. Other survivors include: grandson, Brandon Dunlap, Indiana; brother, Bud Lawer & wife, Helen, Brookfield, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and the following siblings: Mary Ambrose; Ann Lawer; Mike Lawer and John Lawer.

Tres was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. At his request there will be no visitation or public service.
