Obituary for Anna Posavetz (Bobick)

Anna (Bobick) Posavetz, 89, of Indiana, PA, died peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Indiana Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.



Born on December 22, 1920, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Anna (Bernatt) Bobick. She lived in Indiana for the past 60 years after moving from Yatesboro.



Anna was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who in her younger years enjoyed cooking ethnic foods, baking and gardening. She also had quite a talent for sewing and crocheting. She was always a dedicated and ambitious worker, putting her family and obligations first. Before her retirement, she was employed by Season-All Industries for 25 years.



Mrs. Posavetz was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Indiana. She was also a member of AARP and the Legion of Mary.



Surviving are her four children: Anna Marie White and husband Carl of Derry, PA; Joseph and wife Carol of Ft. Worth, Texas; Joyce Posavetz of Indiana, PA; Jean Colish and husband Joseph of Silver Spring, Maryland; 10 grandchildren and their spouses: Carl White Jr., Samuel White and friend Diana; James and Denise White; Timothy White; Lori and Richard Gouge; Lisa and Ralph Cook; Scott and Donna Posavitz; Cary and Laura Posavitz; Jennifer Windham and Olivia Colish.



Also surviving are one sister and two brothers: Kathryn Humenny; Nicholas Bobick and wife Mildred; Frank Bobick and wife Victoria; brother-in-law, George and wife Mildred; sisters-in-law: Kay Bobick, Cecila Bobick, Louise Posavetz, Kathryn Ferrence and Mary Posavetz; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Posavetz; her parents; her parents-in-law; and infant daughter and five brothers.



Anna’s family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Ambrose for the kind and compassionate care he gave her during the final months of her life.



Friends will be received on Thursday, July 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Bence-Mihalcik Funeral Home in Indiana. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church with the Rev. William Kiel as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
