Russell Warren Bertuzzi, 60 of Clymer, PA died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born June 3, 1953 in Clymer, PA, he was a son of the late James H. Bertuzzi and Gladys (Vasbinder) Bertuzzi. He was also widowed from his wife, the former Judy Apshire, who died in 2009.

Russell was a career coal miner who worked for the former Greenwich Collieries. Following the closure of the coal mines he held several part-time jobs in the Clymer area. Russell retired in the early 2000’s.

Whether he was working or playing, Russell loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was a social member of the Northern Cambria VFW.

He is survived by four sons: Jason Bertuzzi, Indiana; Russell Bertuzzi, Marion, OH; Randy Bertuzzi, Clymer and Raymond Bertuzzi, Marion, OH. He is also survived by four grandchildren and the following siblings: Anna Marie Mitchell, Front Royal, VA; Frances McCombs, Indiana; John Bertuzzi, Clymer; Jewel Bertuzzi of Northampton, PA.

In addition to his parents and wife, Russell was preceded in death by his brother, James Michael Bertuzzi and grandson, Kaiden Bertuzzi.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 10AM to 12 noon at the Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home, Clymer. His funeral service will follow at 12 noon with the Rev. Robert White, officiating. Interment will follow in the Manor Cemetery, Cherryhill, Twp.
