Wendell Judson Riley, 80, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Indiana Regional Medical Center. He resided for the last few years with his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Pauline Riley of White Township.

Mr. Riley was born in Watertown, TN, July 31, 1933, the son of Jessie E. and Lorene (Osborne) Riley. He was married to Mary Rose (Heyse) until her death in 1988.

Wendell worked as a barber at Getz’s Barber Shop in Toledo, retiring in 1969 due to ill health.

Wendell, better known as Wendy, was a well-known figure around the White Township Recreational Complex, riding his Hoveround, taking his beloved dog Ty out walking and chatting with just about everyone he met. He was also well-known in the Ice Rink and he cheered on the IUP Men’s Hockey Team.

Mr. Riley is survived by the following children: Terry, and his wife Pauline of Indiana; Vicki Riley and her husband Jessie of Oregon, Ohio; Wayne Riley of Toledo, Ohio; and Mike Riley and his wife Chrissy of Toledo, Ohio. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Banish of Chicago, Illinois. He leaves behind nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his siblings Wayne Riley and Karen Lampher.
A visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave, Sylvania, Ohio on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 4PM until 9PM. His Funeral Service will be held at Walker Funeral Home on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11AM. Interment will be at Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
